This is the story of small fry, the underdog, the financially suppressed, a minnow in the lake of life –but with a big idea and a big helping of drive.

Three years ago I was working for an American cosmetic company in Minneapolis, when I read in the paper about a small mid-west town where the inhabitants became ill after eating food contaminated by excess pesticides. A mental spark was generated and I thought about all the possible contaminants on fresh fruit and vegetables- not just crop protection chemicals but air borne micro organisms, diesel and road film, insects, human handling contaminates -–enough to drive you to becoming a burgertarian.

I also realised that you wash your face, your hands, your baby and your dishes with not just water but to help you clean, so why not your vegetables?

I quit my U.S job, moved back to England and started work, the seed of Veggi Wash was planted. I ploughed all my savings into development and research furrow and after two years germination I finally had a beautiful bloom VEGGI WASH AND FRUIT TOO.

I took my flower to the major supermarkets with all the enthusiasm of a country fair prize-winner. The product was unanimously well received-stock levels and delivery were discussed, but then the paraquat question was asked-WHAT IS YOUR MEDIA SPEND?

I was harrowed instantly- no huge purse to buy advertising, the initial product cultivation had taken all my savings. I wilted -but the strong root base survived and I decided to take another road to market. Editorial and direct sales –with the idea of cultivating interest and demand from my potential customers.

It’s a great idea, well researched and with fully substantial claims. If you like Veggi-Wash let me know. I know your fruit and vegetables will be safer to eat, taste better and stay fresh for longer.

Please help me to pass the word, I want to show the big boys that it is not just financial watering that produces a sales bouquet- and that will make me blooming well smile.
